Compliance Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced, confident, and values-driven Compliance Specialist to lead and maintain Oxford's core compliance programme and support the business to operate with integrity, fairness, and regulatory excellence.

This role would suit a seasoned compliance professional with a strong regulatory acumen and a pragmatic, business-partnering approach. You'll be comfortable working closely with senior leaders, influencing outcomes, and balancing robust compliance with sustainable commercial growth. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and making a visible impact.
What does the role entail?
- Lead and maintain Oxford’s compliance framework, policies, and regulatory obligations
- Oversee regulatory horizon scanning, including obligations under CCCFA, Responsible Lending Code, CoFI, and related legislation
- Lead AML/CFT compliance activities including risk assessments, programme documentation, CDD/EDD standards, reporting, and assurance
- Manage privacy breach response and advertising sign‑off controls
- Coordinate internal and external audits and track findings through to closure
- Design and deliver compliance monitoring plans, control testing, and assurance reporting to the CEO and SLT
- Maintain compliance registers (issues, breaches, complaints, audits, advertising approvals) with strong evidence trails
- Own and manage core compliance training content within the LMS, including effectiveness testing
- Liaise with regulators, IFSO, brokers, and dealers as required on audits and assurance matters
What do we need from you?
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services compliance or assurance roles
- Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT, CCCFA, Privacy Act 2020, Fair Trading Act, Responsible Lending Code, and CoFI
- Experience managing audits, regulatory engagement, and complaint or issue management
- Excellent technical writing, monitoring, and analytical skills
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders and communicate clearly at all levels
- A strong sense of independence, integrity, and customer fairness
